This song is so Summer Jam its meta. This beautiful psychedelic 60's song layered dozens of sounds or samples, instrumentals, and a reverse track you know carries a sinister message. Avalanches blends so many genres together into one beautiful sonic pastry. I can't wait for the new album.

Here is another Canadian band. First band I really loved as a kid was 'The Hip' and to this day they remain a top favourite of mine. To me when young (and still) the always represented so much that made me think Canada was great. From hockey songs to songs about living in the prairies. Not going to get into a huge write up here but this is a jam that is always emotional, but more so with the current situation with the band. Nothing but love for them. Anyway, enjoy!
This might be 2016's breakout artist of the year. Glass Animals blends 1000 instruments and influences all into one sack of musical fertility. You can hear sleigh bells, tabla drums, and distorted electronics that sound like a lost Peter Gabriel song sung by Lou Reed. This song is defintily a summer jam but at its core is about emotional abuse and parental acceptance. Forget all that you want the song?
A little while back Paul shared a jam that was pretty heavy and I just wanted to show that Canada has some pretty heavy bands too. Yes, Nickelback is obviously the heaviest, but this band Strapping Young Lad is pretty good/heavy too. When I am driving around with this song on my cassette player I like to roll down the windows and pretend I look like Devin Townsend (The handsome singer:Canadian hero) and my hair is blowing in the wind.
